SMB’s Fajardo a shoo-in for MVP plum after TnT, Castro bow out

MANILA, Philippines – The last obstacle in June Mar Fajardo’s bid for a record third successive MVP award has seemingly been cleared out after Talk n Text’s ouster by Meralco in the PBA Governors Cup semis on Monday.

Jayson Castro has virtually kissed his own MVP aspiration goodbye on the Texters’ exit.

Fajardo is the runaway leader in the stats race, with his season also embellished by their Philippine Cup title run where he was the Best Player of the Conference awardee.

Castro, Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva and Stanley Pringle are the next men behind Fajardo in the stats derby.
